Duties
Three-year term (limit three consecutive terms). Meetings four times a year at the institution. Governs the institution and its president and faculty consistent with the institution's mission and the Synod's Constitution, Bylaws, and resolutions.
Desired qualifications
Same as the standard regents qualifications: responsibility for the spiritual, academic, and financial health of the institution; demonstrated commitment to Christian education and to the Synod's doctrinal positions; two or more of theological acumen, advanced degree, higher-education administration, complex-organization administration, finance, law, investments, technology, human resources, facilities management, or fund development.
Additional regulations
- No more than two elective members of a college, university, or seminary board of regents may be members of the same congregation.
