Esoterica

The overtures and nominees each got an esoterica article; this page is the census of the census, computed live from the same data files every other page reads, so the numbers below move whenever the corpus does. The site currently serves 2,063 indexed URLs carrying 798,392 words in all: convention documents, the editorial articles, and the Synod’s Handbook.

About these numbers: everything on this page is computed at build time from the same JSON the rest of the site renders, so a correction anywhere updates here too. Word counts split on whitespace; the scripture tally matches chapter-and-verse shapes against canonical book abbreviations and is best read as a close floor, since the documents also cite whole chapters and books; bylaw citations match the dotted-decimal form. The whole-site total adds two corpora to the convention documents: the editorial articles, whose typeset bodies are rendered to text and counted with their decks, and the Synod’s Handbook (Constitution, Bylaws, and Articles of Incorporation). Directory, slate, and interface text is not counted, so the figure is a faithful floor for the site’s prose rather than a character-exact total.
