Consolidates overtures

WHEREAS, Concordia Publishing House (CPH) serves as the official publishing arm of the Synod, providing essential Lutheran resources, books, curricula, and materials to support the faith, teaching, and mission of congregations, church workers, and individual members; and

WHEREAS, It is projected the cost of free shipping could be upwards of $4 million annually, which would cause financial repercussions that are unaffordable and unsustainable for CPH; and

WHEREAS, We give thanks for CPH and its efforts to reduce shipping costs and make its resources readily available. Examples of this include the church resource program which provides free shipping and a 20 percent discount on orders of $60.00 or more for congregations, free shipping and a 20 percent discount on orders of $49.00 or more for rostered church workers, and sales to Amazon and local Christian bookstores that allow free shipping; therefore be it

Resolved, That the Synod in convention commend CPH for keeping costs to a reasonable level and that they continue to pursue opportunities to lower cost of shipping where possible.
